There are a ton of hacks out there that can save you money in every aspect of your life. Some are so good that you’ll want to share them with some of your friends and family. We here at The Blind Side picked out 5 of the best ones that you can start out with.
5. Make A Shopping List
One of the easiest ways to save money is to only shop when you have a list. Because when you’re without one, you typically end up making impulse buys and unplanned purchases. Creating a list before you go to the grocery store is especially important.
Not only can it help you buy items that fit with your meal plan, but it can also help you avoid buying food you might waste. Also, you should never go to the store hungry as it can cause you to make more impulse buys, like that Snickers bar that is calling your name on the way out. Those candy bars are there for a reason.
4. Make Your Own Coffee
This is one of our favorites, because who doesn’t love coffee and money. This really is a hack because it’s not only going to save you money, you will end up loving your own coffee much better. With an automatic coffee maker, you’ve got no reason to not have hot coffee waiting for you right as you wake up.
And far as coffee flavors, you can get just about every fancy fresh ground coffee there is. Add some flavored creamers, or some dash of chocolate syrup. And the best thing? Even with the best beans, you’re still only paying about .25-.50 cents for a cup of coffee with cream and sugar. Why were you buying coffee again?
3. Buy generic
Some people think that just because something has a fancy name, that it must be the best quality. And while that might be true in most cases, did you know there is a generic brand or substitute for just about anything out there? Some grocery stores carry their own brands of generic items. Did you know that many name brand household products carry the same ingredients as generic brands?
And you probably know that most pharmaceutical drugs have a generic equivalent but are the same quality and same drug. You can save thousands of dollars by simply buying the generic store brand instead of the well-known brand. It might be an ego thing to some people, but it seems to me that the smarter person is the richer person, therefore the happier person.
2. Cut out cable
Cut out TV?! Never! But with services like Hulu, Netflix and Amazon Prime, you can now watch your favorite TV shows and movies for a fraction of the cost of cable TV. A study by a market research firm shows that cable bills will soon grow to an average of $123 per month, or $1,476 per year.
By switching over to an online service or cutting out TV altogether, you can save that money for other financial things such as paying off debt, traveling or saving for a down payment on a home.

Taking good care of yourself is important, right? Basic hygiene can ward off things like unnecessary dental visits, while keeping yourself neat and presentable can do a lot for your self-esteem, personal relationships, and career. But some beauty treatments are very expensive.
